Gastronomie 491 is a Mediterranean-inspired specialty food market and full service cafe. We use the finest ingredients and unique recipes to create a wholesome food experience for every customer and event.



Growing up amid the lively food markets of Rome and Southern France, Nicole learned to appreciate the importance of fine and authentic foods. When Nicole moved to the Upper West Side in 2010, she observed a need for high quality foods in the neighborhood. Merging this passion with the needs of the community, she visualized a market that would capture elements of her Mediterranean roots. Today, Gastronomie 491 is an Upper West Side establishment that allows Nicole to share the flavors of the world in which she grew up and from which stem some of her fondest memories.



Native to Trieste, Dennis grew up in his family’s enoteca where he cultivated a passion for and extensive knowledge of wine production. Following his master’s degree from Venice’s Istituto Turistico Alberghiero, Dennis worked in various fine dining restaurant kitchens in Europe before bringing his expertise in Italian cooking to New York City, under Executive Chef Riccardo Bilotta. He was later appointed Executive Chef.

With an eye for beautiful presentation and quality, and a penchant for working with seasonal ingredients, Chef Petronio has made Gastronomie 491 his New York home.
